At 5'10, Ray Small is a speed demon that is a serious threat to score whever he touches the ball. He exceled on both sides of the ball, in addition to special teams. He lacked the size of some of the more high profile wide receivers, but Small was as deadly of a weapon that you can have in high school football With so much talent & speed on the Glenville squad, double teaming Small wasn't the greatest idea, but guarding Small one on one, at least too often, wasn't the best strategy either. Containing Small was a tall order, shutting him down was impossible. He, along with teammates Robert Rose & Bryant Browning, accepted a football scholarship to Ohio State University, and I wouldn't be surprised if he contributed sooner than later
